Our Story

Our first venture was a market stall with a small selection of whole foods. The range grew with time and we successfully established ourselves in a number of Dorset's prominent market towns. Working, come rain or shine, for over 45 years.

At that time there were only a handful of health food shops outside London. Seeing an opportunity, we opened our Wimborne shop 'Spill the Beans' in 1976 and in the following year our second shop 'Purbeck Wholefoods' in nearby Wareham.

Spill the Beans has always been a family orientated enterprise with three generations of Drennans currently involved in the business. Alongside the family we have a fantastic team (the Beanies!) comprised of like minded people equally passionate about quality natural produce, ethically grown and fairly traded.

For a small shop we have so much choice! Our shelves are loaded with quality produce, organic food and - for those with special dietary requirements - an extensive 'free from' selection. There are always excellent offers on supplements and herbal remedies to keep your family healthy.

We look forward to continuing to promote healthy eating from our high street shop.
